Over the last few weeks we have seen milk prices start to be reduced by the buyers but no drop in prices by the supermarkets. Is this justified?
What should we as the MEA be doing, if anything, to address this problem?

It is now almost a 9 months since we decided to re-focus the old Milking Machine Manufacturers Association (MMMA) into the Milking Equipment Association (MEA). This re-focus was designed to meet the needs of manufacturers, distributors, dealers and suppliers in the industry and broaden the base with an association that could really concentrate on the issues of the day.
This web site and the blog will, I hope provide a suitable opportunity to discuss issues and find solutions.
So lets’s start with the Issues. I want to know what you think they are but to start you off here are a few thoughts from me:
1. To establish a training scheme that leads to the implementation of a system of accreditation for installation and service engineers of milking equipment.
2. Obtain acceptance by the Diary industry to 1. above.
In other words no-one should be allowed to install or service milking machine equipment unless they are acrredited.
Do you agree? Let me know your thoughts and ideas.
